Registered Practical Nurse Acute Medicine

Provide acute medical nursing care as a Registered Practical Nurse at Charlton Campus in Hamilton Downtown, using clinical assessment and collaboration.
St. Joseph’s Health System seeks an RPN for its General Internal Medicine Clinical Teaching Unit. The regular part-time position supports less complex clients with predictable outcomes through supportive, preventive, therapeutic, palliative, and rehabilitative care. You will recognize changing acuity, consult Registered Nurses, and follow College of Nurses of Ontario standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide nursing care for clients with varied health conditions
Assess care needs and support treatment planning
Recognize changes in acuity or client complexity
Consult Registered Nurses to determine appropriate next steps
Collaborate with interdisciplinary health professionals for safe care
Requirements:
Current College of Nurses of Ontario registration
Practical Nursing diploma or certificate with required medication credentials
Current BCLS/HCP certification
Knowledge of seniors, families, transfers, and lifts
Minimum one year recent acute medical nursing experience preferred
Bring nursing assessment, telemetry knowledge, and collaborative practice to General Internal Medicine at St. Joseph’s Health System.
