Forestry Summer Student ArcGIS
Similkameen Forest Products LTD.
Build forestry experience with ArcGIS and fieldwork at The Gorman Group’s Princeton Division, working on-site full-time during Summer 2027.
Four Summer Students will support the Woodlands Department from May through August 2027. Reporting to the Silviculture Supervisor, you will gain field and office experience across harvesting, silviculture, road construction, and environmental management. Work Monday to Friday alongside Woodlands staff and experienced mentors.
Key Responsibilities:
Audit contractor environmental management and fire tools
Supervise site preparation, planting, brushing, surveys, and burning
Complete silviculture surveys and treatment layout
Perform cutblock, road layout, and road inspections
Map forestry activities using ArcGIS
Requirements:
At least one year of study completed
Current enrollment in Forestry, Environmental Science, or similar
Valid driver’s license
Must be at least 18 years old
Availability from May through August 2027
Develop practical forestry, silviculture, environmental management, and ArcGIS skills with The Gorman Group in Princeton.
