S2627-87 Educational Assistant - Kikino School
We are seeking a temporary full-time (1.0 FTE) Educational Assistant commencing as soon as possible.
This assignment involves assisting with student educational program needs including social skills, behaviour skills, self-help and personal care needs. This position requires a compassionate and energetic individual to work in a team environment.
Kikino School
is located on the Kikino Métis Settlement 40 km south of the town of Lac La Biche with approximately 95 students in grades ECS to 8. Kikino School is committed to supporting staff who are well versed in providing quality instructional delivery in a safe and caring environment with a focus on academic achievement that is built on a foundation of holistic child development awareness.
Preference will be given to applicants who have:
Post-Secondary training and/or experience as an Educational Assistant
Knowledge and experience with behaviouralstrategies
Experience working one-on-one and/or in a group setting
Knowledge of documentation procedures and proficiency with computers
Knowledge and experience in alternate communications strategies
Experience assisting students with self-help and personal care needs
Familiarity with strategies to address different learning styles and experience with Individual Program Plans
Training and skills that would be an asset include:
Relative experience in educational assistance, nursing and/or rehabilitation
SIVA and/or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training
