Recreation Worker Long Term Care

Plan meaningful recreation activities at AgeCare Ballycliffe in Ajax, supporting resident wellbeing through therapeutic programming and leisure services. This is regular part-time work.
The Recreation Worker plans, develops, and facilitates planned and spontaneous opportunities for residents. You will support skills, relationships, creativity, lifelong learning, and community connections. The position uses resident information and choices to guide programming across home and community settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and implement daily recreation and leisure activities
Facilitate programs supporting resident skills and abilities
Create engaging spaces for meaningful resident participation
Communicate with residents, families, volunteers, and community agencies
Document participation changes and update care plans appropriately
Requirements:
Prior experience working with seniors
Experience in long-term care preferred
Post-secondary recreation, leisure, or therapeutic recreation education
Related health care education with recreation services experience
Knowledge of assessment, care planning, and documentation
Bring recreation planning, therapeutic programming, and resident engagement skills to AgeCare Ballycliffe’s long-term care community in Ajax.
