We’re excited to share an opportunity for an existing vacancy for a 442A PLC Technician. This role offers you the chance to make a meaningful impact by combining your technical expertise and innovative mindset to develop and implement cutting-edge solutions in nuclear and automation applications. itec group is seeking an experienced 442A Industrial Electrician with a strong automation background to join an established manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on electrician who enjoys troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving highly automated manufacturing equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated production and packaging equipment.
Diagnose electrical issues involving PLCs, HMIs, sensors, VFDs, and control systems.
Perform electrical modifications, upgrades, and equipment installations.
Support automation projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
Assist with PLC troubleshooting and programming adjustments.
Complete preventative maintenance to improve equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
Work collaboratively with maintenance, production, and engineering teams.
Maintain a strong focus on safety and electrical standards.
Qualifications
Valid Ontario 442A Industrial Electrician License.
3+ years of industrial electrical experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong automation and controls troubleshooting experience.
Experience with PLCs, HMIs, sensors, VFDs, and motor controls.
Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems up to 600V.
Strong understanding of industrial safety and lockout/tagout procedures.
Food, packaging, automotive, or high-speed manufacturing experience considered an asset.
