Childcare Program Team Leader
YMCA of Greater Vancouver
Lead inclusive before-and-after-school programming at Queensborough YMCA Kids Club using coaching, supervision, and child-centred planning skills.
YMCA BC seeks a full-time permanent Team Leader for children ages 5–12 in New Westminster. You will guide School Age Leaders, support staff and volunteers, and maintain safe, welcoming programming. The work includes family relationships, behaviour support, administrative tasks, and licensing compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct onboarding, orientation, and training for new team members
Coach School Age Leaders delivering engaging indoor and outdoor programs
Monitor staffing levels and maintain required staff-to-child ratios
Build relationships with children, families, partners, and community members
Manage budgets, purchases, payroll, and program administration
Requirements:
At least one year leading or supporting teams
Childcare licensing knowledge or willingness to learn
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Microsoft Office proficiency and ability to learn software
Emergency First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain
Support children, families, and staff through inclusive programming, team coaching, compliance, and organized YMCA BC program leadership.
