This Medicine, PICC assignment supports person-centered nursing through assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, and collaboration with patients, caregivers, and health professionals. You will manage IV lines, administer prescribed therapies, teach self-care, and contribute to referrals and discharge planning. The position requires BCCNM registration, PICC insertion proficiency, and a valid BC driver’s licence with vehicle access when required.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach patients and families about illness prevention and self-care
Develop, implement, and update individualized care plans
Coordinate nursing priorities, delegated tasks, and referrals
Communicate changing patient conditions to care teams
Participate in education, quality improvement, and research activities
Requirements:
Graduation from an approved School of Nursing
Current BCCNM practicing registration as Registered Nurse
Advanced PICC insertion proficiency
Ability to assess, reason clinically, and problem-solve
Physical ability to perform position duties
