The University of Alberta Utilities Department seeks a Cooling Plant Operator for Chilled Water Operations. Reporting to the Chilled Water Systems Supervisor, you will produce and distribute chilled water safely, reliably, and efficiently. Your work supports North Campus, the medical precinct, research activities, laboratories, healthcare facilities, and medical equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate three interconnected chilled water plants
Produce and distribute chilled water throughout the Greater Campus Area
Maintain continuous, stable chilled water network operation
Support campus research, laboratories, and healthcare facilities
Apply safety and operational excellence standards
Requirements:
Broad technical knowledge supporting campus utility demands
Ability to work independently on 12-hour shifts
Availability for nights and weekends
Commitment to safe, reliable, efficient operations
Ability to work primarily at North Campus
Support critical University of Alberta operations through safe chilled water production, distribution, and dependable three-plant operations.
