Pediatric ENT Clinic Registered Nurse
IWK Health
Provide pediatric ENT clinic care in Halifax with IWK Health, using nursing assessment and clinical judgment. This is casual relief work.
The Registered Nurse supports children and families in the ENT Clinic within Children’s Medical Care. Working independently and collaboratively, the RN delivers holistic, individualized, coordinated, evidence-based care in an ambulatory setting. The position includes health promotion, treatment, support, education, and care coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess patient and family needs during visits and telephone consultations
Develop and continuously evaluate individualized plans of care
Use the Nursing Process during nurse-led clinics
Perform preoperative assessments and provide surgical teaching
Coordinate care and support clinical standards and research
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or commensurate education and experience
Licensure or eligibility through the provincial nursing regulator
Three years of recent pediatric surgical nursing experience
Current Heart and Stroke Foundation Basic Life Support certification
Critical thinking, communication, teaching, and collaborative practice skills
