Industrial Electrical Controls Designer
MPE
Design industrial electrical and controls systems using AutoCAD, Revit, and related technologies. This Electrical Technologist position includes potential project travel.
Work on industrial, municipal, and commercial projects as a professional technologist with five to ten years of experience. The position involves preparing design drawings and specifications, maintaining safety knowledge, and supporting complete electrical system design. Your work may cover power distribution, emergency backup up to 750V, lighting, fire alarm, security, communications, networking, automation, and control. Candidates need an accredited post-secondary diploma, TPS membership eligibility, and strong verbal communication. PLC programming, SCADA, computer IT, commissioning, and AutoCAD Plant 3D experience or interest are assets. Leadership, reliability, self-motivation, and a valid driver's license are also identified requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare industrial and commercial drawings and specifications
Develop electrical systems for power distribution and backup
Design lighting and fire alarm systems
Develop security, door access, communications, and networking systems
Coordinate inspections and communications with clients and contractors
Requirements:
Five to ten years of relevant experience
Accredited post-secondary diploma
AutoCAD Electrical Design and Autodesk Revit experience
Interest or experience in PLC and SCADA technologies
Valid driver's license for potential travel
Use electrical systems, industrial controls, and design software knowledge to prepare compliant project documentation and support coordination.
