Randstad Canada is recruiting an experienced Oracle database professional for a six-month consulting contract supporting enterprise database administration and platform operations.
Location:
Toronto, ON
Work arrangement:
Hybrid, currently two days per week on-site
Term:
Approximately six months, with possible extension
Schedule:
Monday to Friday during core business hours, with occasional evening or weekend operational support
Pay:
$61.47–$69.30 per hour
Responsibilities
Maintain, monitor, and tune Oracle databases for performance, data integrity, security, and availability.
Execute database changes, scripts, schema updates, and application deployment packages across development and production environments.
Support Oracle GoldenGate data replication and administer workloads hosted on Oracle Cloud.
Investigate and resolve database errors, performance issues, and connectivity incidents, including root-cause analysis.
Apply patches and upgrades, verify backups and recovery, and manage database capacity.
Coordinate database changes and troubleshooting with application, systems, and infrastructure teams.
Qualifications
At least five years of hands-on Oracle DBA or database analyst experience in enterprise environments.
Experience administering databases in Oracle Cloud (OCI) and working with Oracle GoldenGate.
Experience with database deployments, DDL/DML migrations, and release execution.
Strong troubleshooting knowledge, including database contention, locking, resource constraints, and performance.
Microsoft SQL Server experience and English/French bilingualism are considered assets.
