French Immersion Middle School Teacher
School District #33 (Chilliwack)
Teach Grade 6/7 French Immersion at Chilliwack Middle School using strong French proficiency and middle school teaching experience. This is a temporary, full-time assignment.
The Early French Immersion Generalist teaches Math, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, Physical and Health Education, French, Fine Arts, ADST, and Careers. Successful candidates understand current Ministry of Education practices, assessment procedures, and Professional Standards for BC Educators. The assignment emphasizes teaming, connections, exploration, collaboration, and adolescent development.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach core academic subjects entirely in French
Deliver balanced literacy and numeracy instruction
Use assessment data to guide teaching and planning
Integrate technology into engaging daily lessons
Support learners through RTI interventions and adaptations
Requirements:
Extensive training and qualifications across all assignment areas
Strong oral and written French proficiency
Successful middle school classroom teaching experience
Ability to collaborate within an assigned teaching team
Commitment to First Peoples Principles of Learning
Bring French Immersion instruction, balanced programming, collaboration, and responsive assessment to Grade 6/7 learners at Chilliwack Middle School.
