Claims Property Damage Appraiser

Inspect property damage and prepare accurate repair estimates as CGIC’s Claims Property Damage Appraiser II in a hybrid work model. Building construction knowledge supports sound assessment decisions.
This regular full-time position reviews vendor documentation, evaluates repair methods, and confirms costs reflect the insured loss. You act as a subject matter expert for construction, repairs, and vendor performance. The role also emphasizes exceptional client service, efficient claims collaboration, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct inspections to assess damage and repair scope
Prepare estimates considering quality, methods, costs, and safety
Analyze vendor assessments for legitimacy and containment
Collaborate with claims teams to improve repair efficiency
Deliver client service aligned with claims standards
Requirements:
Five years’ contractor or trade experience in claims
Property or commercial claims background
Building construction and trades certificate or training
Occasional travel and personal vehicle required
French is an asset; English is required
Use property damage inspection, estimating, and construction expertise to support accurate claims service as CGIC’s Appraiser II.
