Carewest seeks a Therapy Assistant for regular full-time days at Bridgeland Riverside Care Centre. Working under a Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist, you will support adults with severe and persistent mental illness, concurrent disorders, cognitive impairment, and complex psychosocial needs. The position promotes functional independence, daily participation, autonomy, and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:

Implement prescribed therapeutic interventions and rehabilitation programming
Assist with exercises, gait training, mobility, and daily activities
Observe, document, and report changes in client condition
Support clients using person-centred, trauma-informed, harm reduction approaches
Communicate progress with supervising therapists and interdisciplinary teams
Requirements:

Graduation from an accredited Therapy Assistant program
Knowledge of rehabilitation principles and functional mobility
Previous experience in a therapeutic setting
Ability to establish professional therapeutic client relationships
Effective communication, documentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
