Medical Surgical Health Care Attendant

Provide direct patient care as a Health Care Attendant at Whitehorse General Hospital, supporting independence and quality of life on-site.
This casual on-call position serves combined medical and surgical care. Reporting to the Clinical Care Manager, you will support respite clients and acute care patients under nursing supervision. The work addresses physical, emotional, spiritual, and cultural needs within a clean, safe environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and provide direct care to patients
Support patients with activities of daily living
Serve as primary caregiver for respite clients
Provide acute patient care under duty Nurse supervision
Perform other related duties
Requirements:
Role-specific training or two to three years’ related experience
Current CPR and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training
Knowledge of illness-related physical and psychological changes
Strong oral communication and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and within teams
