Recreation Worker Long-Term Care

Plan meaningful recreation programs at AgeCare using therapeutic recreation skills to support resident wellbeing, creativity, connection, and participation.
The Recreation Worker develops and facilitates planned and spontaneous leisure opportunities for residents. You will support resident skills, knowledge, relationships, and personal connections. Programming takes place in the home and community, reflecting AgeCare’s resident-centered philosophy and approach.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and implement daily recreation and leisure activities
Create engaging spaces supporting meaningful resident participation
Communicate with residents, families, volunteers, and community groups
Document participation changes and update plans of care
Evaluate recreation programs and quality improvement processes
Requirements:
Prior experience working with seniors, preferably in long-term care
Diploma or degree in recreation, therapeutic recreation, or related studies
Knowledge of activities across wellness domains and functioning levels
Skills in assessment, care planning, and related documentation
Knowledge of therapeutic programming techniques and approaches
Bring recreation planning, documentation, and therapeutic programming skills to help AgeCare residents maintain abilities and meaningful connections.
