Behaviour Support Learning Assistant

Apply positive behaviour supports, observation skills, and student-centred care as an Online Learning Assistant with Rocky View Schools. The assignment is temporary and full-time.
At Summit Trails Online High School, you will support grades 10-12 learners with diverse and complex needs. Working with teachers and reporting to the Principal, you will document behavioural observations and apply strategies identified in student plans. The position focuses on health, learning, safety, and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
Document behavioural observations to support positive strategies
Facilitate interaction between students with special needs and peers
Support exercise and adaptive physical education activities
Assist range of motion and motor skills development
Support transfers, tube feeding, medication, and medical requirements
Requirements:
Educational Assistant Certificate or related education
Experience with challenging behaviour and positive behaviour supports is advantageous
Working knowledge of child development
Effective collaborative teamwork and multitasking abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Contribute behaviour documentation, adaptive support, and coordinated care that help Summit Trails students learn, participate, and grow independently.
