Serve UBC customers while managing dishwashing, food preparation, and counter replenishment. The work includes sanitation, safety, and physical exertion.
This Dishwasher position supports UBC Food Services in Residence Dining Front-of-House. Alongside washing dishes and pots, you will assist cooks, portion and plate food, replenish service counters, and maintain product quality. You will also clean dining and kitchen areas, follow recycling and waste protocols, and perform stockroom and inventory duties. The position works under general supervision, with occasional independent work and relief duties for other food service workers.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with meat, vegetable, dessert, pastry, and salad preparation
Portion, plate, wrap, pack, and dispense food
Set up counters and replenish refrigerated and display supplies
Bus tables and clean customer service areas
Follow sanitation, recycling, sorting, and waste protocols
Requirements:
Grade 10 education or equivalent education and experience
One year of related experience required
Capacity to lift dishes, pots, and products up to 25 kilograms
Ability to use proper cleaning substances and mark hazards
Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion awareness
