Community Mental Health Occupational Therapist

Deliver occupational therapy across community, home, and hospital settings with Nova Scotia Health, supporting self-care, productivity, and leisure outcomes.
This full-time long-assignment position serves MHA CZ West Hants Community MH at Hants Community Hospital. The Occupational Therapist develops individualized treatment plans with clients and families while independently managing a busy caseload. Strong interpersonal and written communication support consultation, treatment, evaluation, and follow-up.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess clients and establish individualized treatment goals
Provide consultation, treatment, evaluation, and follow-up
Support client functioning in self-care, productivity, and leisure
Work within multidisciplinary hospital and community healthcare teams
Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants and contribute to clinical education
Requirements:
College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia licensure
Graduation from a C.A.O.T. recognized Occupational Therapy program
Two years of relevant experience, with exceptions possible
Experience conducting functional assessments and writing reports
Ability to work independently during challenging clinical situations
