Pension Administration Benefits Analyst

Use analytical skills and pension administration knowledge to validate benefits transactions for Prince Edward Island’s public sector pension plans.
The Department of Finance and Affordability seeks a Junior Pension Benefit Specialist for its Pensions & Benefits Section. You will review eligibility, verify service purchases, prepare complex calculations, and examine records before benefits processing begins. The position also addresses inquiries from members, financial institutions, administrators, and estates.
Key Responsibilities:
Confirm eligibility for service purchases and pension transfers
Review records and processing steps against established procedures
Coordinate monthly pension benefit requests and outstanding issues
Respond to member inquiries about pension benefit impacts
Identify administrative inefficiencies and support corrective solutions
Requirements:
Related university degree or related diploma with considerable experience
Experience communicating financial concepts to diverse audiences
Experience performing mathematical calculations and analytical work
Experience in highly regulated, multi-employer environments
Satisfactory Criminal Records Check before employment begins
Bring careful review, pension calculations, and accessible financial communication to accurate administration for registered and non-registered plans.
