Mining Exploration Sectoral Officer

Manage mining exploration communications and Geographic Information Systems data as a Sectoral Officer working permanently full-time in Mistissini. Support Eeyou Istchee communities and projects.
The Sectoral Officer manages information concerning exclusive exploration rights and mining activities on Category II and Category III land. Responsibilities include applying the Cree-Quebec Governance agreement, addressing provincial regulatory correspondence, and supporting tourism and outfitting operations. The position requires collaboration with communities, departments, stakeholders, and funding agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement provisions concerning mining claims and exclusive exploration rights
Develop communication protocols for new claims using GIS
Maintain maps and data on exploration projects
Manage mining communications and permitting requests
Represent the department on committees and working groups
Requirements:
College diploma in Business, Administration, or related field
Three to five years of relevant work experience
Fluency in verbal Cree and English
Microsoft Office proficiency and strong communication skills
Attention to detail; GIS experience is an asset
Bring accurate communications, GIS knowledge, and stakeholder collaboration to mining exploration administration across Eeyou Istchee.
