Heavy Duty Fleet Maintenance Mechanic

Diagnose fleet systems and protect passenger safety as a Heavy Duty Mechanic with Transdev in Kelowna. Work full-time on a four-day schedule.
This unionized Transdev position suits Red Seal Heavy Duty, Automotive, or Commercial Transport Mechanics and qualified fourth-year apprentices. You will maintain transit vehicles through inspections, repairs, diagnostics, documentation, and readiness checks. The work supports reliable transportation services for Kelowna’s community.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform preventive maintenance and annual vehicle inspections
Diagnose mechanical and drivetrain systems
Complete brake, suspension, engine, clutch, and transmission repairs
Document work orders, parts, supplies, and maintenance activities
Inspect repairs and verify vehicle readiness before service
Requirements:

Red Seal certification or registered fourth-year apprenticeship
Class 5 British Columbia licence with Air Brake Endorsement
Willingness to obtain a Class 2 licence within three months
Appropriate mechanic’s tool set
Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
