Mental Health Recreation Therapist
Fraser Health Authority
Support mental health recovery as a Recreation Therapist with Fraser Health, using therapeutic recreation and community-based care planning. The salary range is CAD $40.19–$50.20 hourly.
Reporting to the Coordinator, Rehabilitation & Recovery Services, you will work within an interdisciplinary care team. The position focuses on meaningful recreation programs, leisure activities, psychosocial functioning, and recovery. You will assess clients, develop rehabilitation plans, document care, and evaluate interventions addressing physical, social, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and cultural needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess functioning, interests, goals, capacity, and leisure histories
Develop rehabilitation plans and therapeutic recreation interventions
Facilitate individual and group leisure activities
Liaise with clients, resources, and interdisciplinary team members
Document care, workload statistics, reports, and program evaluations
Requirements:
Baccalaureate Degree in Recreation Therapy from an accredited university
Three years recent recreation therapy experience with mental health populations
Eligibility for BC Therapeutic Recreation Association membership
Valid BC Driver's License and personal vehicle
Knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation and recovery-oriented practice
