Senior Municipal Bylaw Enforcement Officer
The Corporation of The City of Victoria
Lead municipal bylaw enforcement for the City of Victoria, using investigative judgment, field supervision, and conflict de-escalation skills.
As a Senior Bylaw Officer, you investigate noncompliance with municipal bylaws and provincial statutes. You lead complex investigations, advise City departments, and supervise Parks and Public Space Enforcement Officers. The position coordinates deployments, manages caseloads, and supports consistent compliance decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise field teams and support Officer safety
Coordinate daily deployments, priorities, briefings, and statistics
Investigate noncompliance and undertake enforcement action
Lead complex investigations and provide compliance advice
Train, mentor, and contribute to performance reviews
Requirements:
High school graduation
Five years of related experience or equivalent education
Levels 1 and 2 Bylaw Compliance certificates
Valid Class 5 British Columbia driver’s licence
Conflict management and protective force recertifications
