Build trustworthy card experiences at Affirm as a remote Canada Staff Full Stack Software Engineer using Python, Kotlin, and React.
You will shape technical strategy for the Card Experiences team at Affirm. The work spans backend systems, web and mobile experiences, and distributed architecture. You will collaborate with product, design, risk, operations, and analytics partners while applying AI thoughtfully to customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities:

Set technical strategy across a year-long planning horizon
Own features from problem definition through production monitoring
Maintain monitoring, playbooks, testing, alerting, and on-call practices
Set code review and design standards across engineering
Develop talent through feedback, guidance, and example
Requirements:

Eight or more years designing backend systems at scale
Experience with Python or Kotlin and distributed systems
Experience using AWS, MySQL, Spark, and Kubernetes
Proficiency with React Native, React, or Vue
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
Bring full stack expertise, technical leadership, and AI-first thinking to reliable Affirm cardholder experiences across remote Canada.
