Mission Critical Engineering Director

Direct engineering for Frequentis Canada’s mission-critical systems in Gatineau, applying leadership, cybersecurity, and software assurance expertise.
This Director of Engineering role leads the function supporting communication and information systems for safety-critical control centres. You will establish engineering strategy, oversee complex software delivery, and ensure people, processes, technology, and investments meet organizational priorities. Collaboration spans Product Management, Operations, Quality, Security, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure secure, reliable, maintainable, and scalable product delivery
Enforce development processes, quality, assurance, and regulatory obligations
Provide oversight for technical, delivery, and security risks
Partner with cross-functional and international technology organizations
Represent Engineering in leadership, audit, and customer activities
Requirements:
Degree in software, computer, electrical, or related engineering
Complex software or integrated systems delivery experience
Safety-critical, mission-critical, regulated, or certified environment experience preferred
Knowledge of cybersecurity, compliance, software assurance, and quality
Excellent executive communication, influence, negotiation, and judgment
Use senior engineering leadership and security-focused delivery experience to strengthen Frequentis Canada’s safety-critical technology capabilities.
