Mobile Laboratory Assistant Phlebotomist

Use phlebotomy and patient communication skills as a Mobile Laboratory Assistant serving Vancouver Island communities Monday to Friday mornings. Travel between homes and care facilities.
LifeLabs seeks a temporary part time regular float Laboratory Assistant for a six month contract or incumbent return. The role supports on site patient care in Courtney, Comox, Parksville, and Qualicum. You will organize visits, collect specimens, and coordinate testing requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Schedule facility and private residence specimen collection visits
Plan routes around courier times, specimen integrity, and travel
Perform phlebotomies, Holter monitor connections, and ECG tracings
Accession, spin, separate, and prepare specimens for transport
Explain collection procedures and liaise with doctors and staff
Requirements:
Approved Laboratory Assistant program graduate or equivalent
Phlebotomy experience and excellent communication skills
Valid Class 5 driver’s license and clean driving record
Minimum three years driving experience and vehicle access
Criminal reference check, vaccination, privacy, and insurance requirements
