Mobile Laboratory Assistant Nanaimo
LifeLabs Medical Laboratory Services
Support mobile patient care with LifeLabs through phlebotomy and specimen collection across Nanaimo, Duncan, Ladysmith, and Port Alberni. This temporary full time float role serves patients on site.
As a Mobile Laboratory Assistant, you will visit private homes, commercial facilities, and long term care facilities. The work includes phlebotomy, ECG tracings, Holter monitor support, appointment booking, and specimen preparation. You will organize routes around courier times, specimen integrity, and travel requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Schedule facility and private residence visits daily
Perform phlebotomies and connect or disconnect Holter monitors
Complete ECG tracings for patient care
Collect, accession, spin, separate, and deliver specimens
Coordinate appointments and explain collection procedures
Requirements:
Approved Laboratory Assistant program graduate or equivalent
Phlebotomy experience and strong communication skills
Valid Class 5 driver’s license and clean driving record
Minimum three years of driving experience and vehicle access
Patient privacy, problem solving, and criminal check requirements
Bring mobile laboratory expertise, careful route planning, and patient-focused communication to LifeLabs services across Vancouver Island communities.
