Emergency Department Health Care Aide

Support patients in the Red Deer Regional Hospital Emergency Department as a Health Care Aide using personal assistance and routine care skills. This is a regular full-time position.
As an HCA, you will collaborate with nurses and multidisciplinary professionals under regulated health professional supervision. You will support activities of daily living, follow patient care plans, and communicate with patients, families, caregivers, and health care professionals. Care includes hygiene, nutrition, mobility, toileting, recreation, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide personal assistance and support daily living activities
Assist nurses with routine patient care needs
Observe and report patient mood, health, and wellbeing
Support organized activities and programs
Maintain safe environments for patients, staff, and visitors
Requirements:
Active or eligible CLHA registration or practice permit
Health Care Aide education or certificate within eighteen months
Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider certification
Recent acute care experience and N95 fit testing ability
Verbal and written English communication skills
Bring patient care, communication, and collaborative practice skills to the Emergency Department Health Care Aide team.
