Traffic Signal Operations Analyst
Greater Sudbury
Optimize traffic signal operations for the City of Greater Sudbury using signal timing, transportation technology, and data analysis in a hybrid work arrangement.
As a Traffic Signal Analyst, you will manage traffic signals, Intelligent Transportation Systems, and transportation technology infrastructure. The position supports safe, efficient movement through operational analysis, asset management, project delivery, and evidence-based recommendations. You will also coordinate maintenance and traffic operations planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and optimize signal timing, coordination, warrants, and special-event strategies
Support ATMS, Transit Signal Priority, EVP, and other ITS
Investigate equipment failures and coordinate maintenance, repairs, and improvements
Analyze network performance, delays, queues, travel times, and reliability
Prepare technical reports, recommendations, specifications, and engineering documentation
Requirements:
Related college diploma from a Canadian-accredited community college
Over five through seven years of related experience
Knowledge of signal timing, controllers, networks, detection, and ITS
Ability with Transportation Signal Optimization software
Valid Class G licence and acceptable driving record
