Lead specialty coffee service at Phil & Sebastian Coffee Roasters’ Chinook Mall café in Calgary with coaching and operational accountability.
This full-time Cafe Leader manages people, service, schedules, finances, and café operations. You will work with the Director, Manager of Cafe Operations, Assistant Cafe Leader, Sebastian, and Phil. The position supports team development, customer experience, quality, and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Coach, mentor, evaluate, and develop café team members
Communicate weekly with café staff and upper management
Create schedules, monitor sales, and manage hours budgets
Review financials, reconcile cash, and manage waste costs
Resolve operational issues, launches, maintenance, and quality concerns
Requirements:
Minimum one year management experience in coffee or restaurants
Full-time availability, including regular weekends and holidays
Commitment through January 2027 with immediate availability
Strong communication, coaching, leadership, and feedback skills
Interest in specialty coffee, quality, sourcing, and preparation
Bring café leadership, specialty coffee knowledge, team coaching, and financial accountability to Phil & Sebastian’s Calgary operation.
