Community Development Specialist Ottawa

Community development and health promotion shape this full-time SEOCHC position in South-East Ottawa, focused on engagement, advocacy, and community capacity building.
The Community Developer works within the Community Services team at South-East Ottawa Community Health Centre. This position assesses community needs, coordinates initiatives, and supports residents, organizations, and partners. It also leads centre-wide and strategic health promotion and community development activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Support residents and organizations in identifying needs and developing solutions
Lead advocacy, outreach, partnership building, and leadership development initiatives
Facilitate participation in planning, decisions, and collective action
Develop relationships with networks, coalitions, committees, and external partners
Maintain documentation and support data collection, reporting, and evaluation
Requirements:
Post-secondary degree in community development or related field
Minimum five years’ community development or related experience
Excellent oral and written English communication skills
Experience with diverse communities and interdisciplinary teams
Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle for regular travel
