Work with anaesthesia technology and clinical research as a Full-Time Anaesthesia Assistant at Royal Columbian Hospital near Sapperton SkyTrain station.
Fraser Health seeks an Anaesthesia Assistant to maintain safe, effective anaesthesia support under Anaesthesiologist direction. The work combines clinical assistance with equipment testing, calibration, records management, education, committee participation, and research projects. You will contribute across operating rooms, PACU, and other hospital areas.
Key Responsibilities:
Calibrate anaesthesia machines, ventilators, vaporizers, and monitors
Test equipment, identify malfunctions, and coordinate repairs
Enter patient information into computerized databases and records
Provide equipment education to professionals and students
Participate in committees, research, and special projects
Requirements:
Graduate from an accredited post-graduate Anaesthesia Assistant Program
Respiratory Therapy diploma with three years related experience
Current CPR, ACLS, and NRP certification
Computer skills using patient care information systems
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Combine clinical judgement, computerized documentation, and medical equipment skills within Fraser Health’s integrated surgical team.
