Financial Analyst Budget Reporting

Financial reporting and variance analysis define this full-time YESAB position in Whitehorse, supporting accurate decisions through strong accounting practices.
Reporting to the Finance & Administration Manager, the Financial Analyst supports financial management processes at the Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Board. The work includes budgeting, reconciliations, financial reporting, internal controls, and regulatory compliance. Collaboration with staff, senior management, and budget managers supports fiscal accountability and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Gather and analyze data for annual budget preparation
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Analyze variances and explain budget discrepancies
Process journal entries and reconcile accounts
Monitor cash flow and support operational liquidity
Requirements:
Post-secondary degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting practices
Proficiency in reporting, budgeting, reconciliations, and variance analysis
Computerized accounting systems knowledge; QuickBooks is advantageous
Strong communication skills for presenting complex information clearly
