Commercial Vehicle Inspection Mechanic
School District #73 (Kamloops/Thompson)

This permanent Mechanic position works twelve months yearly under the Mechanic Foreman or Director of Transportation. The role maintains vehicles and heavy-duty equipment while following CVSE, D-250, and CMVSS regulations. It requires computerized systems knowledge, diagnostic skills, manual dexterity, and independent workload organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and maintain vehicles under applicable regulations
Perform motor vehicle inspections for safety compliance
Service vehicles through travel and service calls
Inspect and maintain shop hoists
Order supplies and recommend necessary equipment purchases
Requirements:
Thorough knowledge of all mechanic trade aspects
Knowledge of engine and transmission electronic controls
Knowledge of diagnostic equipment and software
Ability to work independently with limited supervision
Valid Commercial Vehicle Inspection Certificate
Bring inspection knowledge, diagnostic capability, and regulatory awareness to the School District No. 73 mechanic team.
