Newcomer Services Program Coordinator
YMCA of the Cedar Rapids Metro Area
Coordinate newcomer services across rural and remote communities, using strong planning and communication skills. This full-time contract is based in Marystown with local travel.
The YMCA seeks a Program Coordinator supporting newcomers and families across the Placentia, Bonavista Peninsula, and Burin Peninsula. You will organize activities promoting healthy, active living, English language growth, and community connection. The work includes youth leadership and intergenerational programming, both in person and virtually.
Key Responsibilities:
Engage local newcomers and their families across designated communities
Organize and facilitate group activities for all ages
Support healthy and active living, especially for seniors and youth
Create community connections through groups and local events
Foster youth leadership and intergenerational activities virtually and in person
Requirements:
Undergraduate degree or acceptable education and relevant experience combination
Minimum two years in Program Coordinator or Lead positions
Experience working with community partners in developmental roles
Microsoft Office Suite experience and strong organizational skills
Valid Newfoundland driver's licence and access to a vehicle
Support newcomer integration through organized programming, English development, youth leadership, and community connections across rural Newfoundland.
