Sawmill and Metal Cutting Assistant
Coaldale, AB
Operate industrial saws and shears at Intercontinental Truck Body’s Coaldale plant, preparing metal and other materials for fabrication and production.
As a Material Cutting Assistant, you will support ITB’s custom manufacturing work by cutting, bending, measuring, and packaging materials. The position requires safe use of hand, power, and air tools, along with the ability to interpret verbal instructions and blueprints. Cross-training includes Brake Press, Laser Table, and Router Table operation for design and fabrication requirements. You will help maintain a clean workplace, complete assigned tasks, and support other departments as necessary. Core hours are 7:00am to 3:30pm, with no less than 40 expected hours weekly.
Key Responsibilities:
Cut materials using saws, shears, and the Kaltenbach
Cross-train on Brake Press, Laser, and Router Tables
Maintain tools and equipment with maintenance support
Apply safety procedures, rules, and regulations
Support assigned production and departmental tasks
Requirements:
Ability to interpret specifications and instructions
Safe use of hand, power, and air tools
Strong blueprint-reading ability
CNC and Brake experience is an asset
Professional and ethical working manner
Bring safe tool operation, material preparation, and blueprint-reading ability to ITB’s cutting and fabrication production team.
