Intermediate Special Education Teacher

Teach Personal Life Management in a self-contained Special Education classroom at Parry Sound Intermediate, using individualized educational strategies and assessment.
The NNDSB seeks an Intermediate Classroom Teacher for an LTO assignment starting immediately until the teacher’s early return. The position is open to Occasional Teachers and Permanent ETFO Teachers, requires an interview, and serves students with varying special education needs. Responsibilities include alternative program development, Individual Education Plans, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and assess alternative elementary programs
Support life skills, self-regulation, communication, and functional literacy
Create Individual Education Plans for varying student needs
Use ABA and BMS strategies successfully
Coordinate communication, meetings, and case conferences
Requirements:
Valid Ontario College of Teachers Certificate
Valid Ontario College of Teachers Registration Certificate
Intermediate Qualifications
Special Education Specialist qualification
Experience with autism and developmental disabilities
Bring Special Education expertise, individualized planning, and collaborative teaching skills to the Intermediate program at Parry Sound Intermediate.
