Operating Room Registered Nurse

Provide direct operating room nursing care at Central Island Surgical Centre in Nanaimo, using peri-operative expertise and patient safety practices.
Island Health seeks a practicing Registered Nurse for a regular part-time Operating Room assignment. The position follows unit philosophy, competency guidelines, policies, and CRNBC Standards for Nursing Practice in British Columbia. Recent operating room experience or a recognized peri-operative program is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan direct nursing care for operating room patients
Provide patient care according to unit philosophy
Apply competency guidelines and established policies
Follow CRNBC nursing practice standards in British Columbia
Support continuous quality and safety improvement
Requirements:
Registration as a practicing RN with BC College of Nurses and Midwives
Recognized peri-operative program or recent operating room experience
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to organize workload and set priorities
Physical ability to perform position duties
