Laboratory Specimen Processing Assistant

Prepare specimens and support accurate testing as a Casual Lab Technical Assistant with LifeLabs, working Tuesday through Saturday. Flexible shifts are required.
This Lab Technical Assistant position supports laboratory specimen preparation, setup, and limited test processing. You will work under Medical Laboratory Technologist guidance while handling testing procedures and equipment. Your work helps deliver fast, accurate results for patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive, accession, sort, and prepare specimens for testing
Perform manual and automated testing procedures under guidance
Respond to LifeLabs employee and client phone inquiries
Clean, maintain, and operate laboratory instruments and equipment
Support workflow problem solving and continuous improvement
Requirements:
High School diploma with post-secondary science or medical terminology courses
Previous laboratory experience is an asset
Detail-oriented, hands-on approach in collaborative work
Excellent communication skills with varied contacts
Strong Microsoft Office computer skills and confidentiality standards
Bring specimen preparation, equipment operation, communication, and safety skills to LifeLabs laboratory testing support.
