Support patient testing and specimen handling with Dynacare as a Laboratory Assistant. This full-time contract follows weekday day shifts in Peterborough, Ontario.
Working at 26 Hospital Drive, you will help create a positive patient experience while maintaining quality metrics and regulatory compliance. Your responsibilities include collecting blood and other specimens, conducting tests, handling documentation, and protecting confidential information. Dynacare seeks applicants with secondary school completion, laboratory assistant or Medical Lab Assistance training, and specialized phlebotomy preparation.
Key Responsibilities:

Create a caring, reassuring experience for patients
Sort and steer suitable and unsuitable specimens
Complete ECGs, Holter hookups, and specialized collections
Maintain secure confidential patient and testing information
Support departmental quality metrics and regulatory compliance
Requirements:

Laboratory Assistant or Medical Lab Assistance course completion
Specialized phlebotomy training and demonstrated technical skill
Ability to calm anxious patients during collection
Extremely detail-oriented, organized, and deadline-focused approach
Clear written and verbal English communication
Use patient care, specimen handling, and phlebotomy skills to uphold Dynacare’s quality standards in Peterborough.
