Emergency Department LPN Orthopaedic Technician

This Emergency Department LPN - Orthopaedic Tech position supports Central Corridor’s main referral center. The role combines Licensed Practical Nurse practice with orthopaedic care, including casts, splints, and traction equipment. Candidates need recent Acute Med-Surg or Critical Care experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Apply, adjust, and remove casts, splints, and traction equipment
Provide LPN care for diverse Emergency Department presentations
Observe and monitor patient physical, mental, and emotional changes
Report and document patient condition changes accurately
Provide patient and family centred care
Requirements:
Complete accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education
Hold or qualify for Alberta LPN registration and practice permit
Complete accredited specialty Orthopaedic Technician training
Maintain current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
Have two to five years recent Acute Med-Surg or Critical Care experience
Use Emergency Department nursing, orthopaedic technology, and patient-centred care skills at Red Deer Regional Hospital.
