Gas Safety and Service Technician
FortisBC
Protect public safety as a FortisBC Customer Service Technician in Victoria, investigating gas leaks and maintaining regulated infrastructure. This full-time role requires field readiness.
The Gas branch needs a technician who can respond to emergencies, inspect gas systems, and complete authorized installations. Responsibilities span leakage investigations, pressure regulation, LNG vaporization equipment, and emergency coordination. You will represent FortisBC while delivering technical customer guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
Locate and categorize emergency gas leakage
Install house-lines, relief stacks, and vent lines
Operate portable LNG vaporization equipment safely
Survey and maintain distribution system components
Coordinate responses involving fire, police, and authorities
Requirements:
High school graduation
Valid Gas B, Utility, or equivalent qualification
Ability to plan and organize field work
Physical strength, agility, and dexterity
Ability to meet the public as FortisBC representative
Apply gas distribution knowledge, emergency response judgment, and customer service skills across FortisBC’s Victoria field operations.
