Acute Tertiary Mental Health Therapist

Acute and tertiary mental health practice define this casual Occupational Therapist position based in Surrey, BC, with Fraser Health.
As part of the regional Rehabilitation & Recovery team, you will work across Fraser Health mental health facilities. Acute practice focuses on functional assessment, support recommendations, and smooth community transition. Tertiary practice addresses residents' psychosocial and physical occupational needs during extended stays.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments for clients living with mental illness
Match support needs with appropriate services and equipment
Introduce grocery, sensory, wellness, and routine strategies
Assist residents toward meaningful activities and next settings
Provide education to staff, students, caregivers, and community workers
Requirements:
Graduation from an approved Occupational Therapy program
Two years recent acute or community mental health experience
Current full professional registration in British Columbia
Eligible for Canadian occupational therapy association membership
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Bring mental health assessment, functional rehabilitation, and client-centered care expertise to Fraser Health's acute and tertiary programs.
