Pediatric ICU Registered Nurse

Provide pediatric intensive care at Victoria General Hospital in Victoria, British Columbia, using PICU expertise and direct nursing skills. Rotating day and night shifts apply.
Island Health seeks a Registered Nurse - PICU to plan and provide direct nursing care for hospital patients. The position follows unit philosophy, competency guidelines, policies, and BCCNM Standards for Nursing Practice. Patient and staff safety, quality improvement, and effective communication guide the work.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan direct nursing care for pediatric intensive care patients
Provide direct nursing care according to unit guidelines
Apply policies and BCCNM nursing practice standards
Organize assigned workload and establish priorities
Communicate with patients, families, physicians, and community representatives
Requirements:
BC College of Nurses and Midwives practicing RN registration
Current CPR Basic Rescuer certification
Knowledge of children’s physiology and psychology from newborn through sixteen
Recognized Pediatric ICU education certificate
Up to two years recent Pediatric ICU experience, or equivalent
Use pediatric intensive care knowledge, communication, and prioritization skills as a Registered Nurse supporting patients at Victoria General Hospital.
