Senior Living Food Service Cook

Support seniors through daily meal preparation and resident participation as a Cook at Carefor’s Richmond Care Home in Ontario.
This Cook position serves nutritious meals and snacks while considering allergies, preferences, and resident independence. You will organize ingredients, prepare recipes, maintain kitchen standards, and encourage residents to assist safely. Carefor has supported seniors and vulnerable populations since 1897 through community services across Eastern Ontario.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve scheduled nutritious meals and snacks
Prepare ingredients for upcoming daily recipes
Promote resident independence during kitchen activities
Store groceries and keep kitchen areas clean
Maintain resident safety during meal participation
Requirements:
Food Handler Certificate required
Three years of food service experience minimum
Experience in healthcare food service preferred
Grade 12 education preferred
Dementia or Alzheimer’s experience considered an asset
Use your cooking, meal planning, and resident engagement skills to serve Carefor’s senior living community.
