Teach Quranic recitation and Islamic Studies on-site at Az-Zahraa Islamic Academy in Richmond, British Columbia, using Tajweed and pronunciation expertise.
This full-time elementary teaching position serves students from Junior Kindergarten through Grade 7. You will create engaging lessons, prepare curriculum-aligned materials, and support students’ spiritual, personal, intellectual, physical, mental, and social development within an Islamic educational framework.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach Quranic recitation using systematic Tajweed-focused lesson plans
Develop courses and tailored materials for varying proficiency levels
Assess progress through tests, homework, and ongoing feedback
Implement remedial programs and adjust instruction to learning needs
Collaborate with teachers to integrate Islamic values schoolwide
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in education
Three to five years of teaching experience
Strong Quranic recitation and Tajweed proficiency
Excellent communication with elementary-age children
British Columbia Letter of Permission or independent school certification
Bring elementary teaching experience, Quranic recitation expertise, and Islamic values to Az-Zahraa Islamic Academy’s Richmond classroom.
