Healthcare Revenue Cycle Counselor
Silver Cross Hospital
Strengthen oncology revenue cycle processes through financial counseling, account review, and insurance knowledge at Silver Cross Hospital. This weekday daytime assignment excludes holidays and weekends.
The Financial Counselor, Oncology evaluates payment plans, financial assistance, and potential uncollectible accounts while maintaining accurate patient information. You will work with staff at Silver Cross Hospital and the University of Chicago to reduce redundant communications and improve account coordination. Cerner Millennium experience, an associate degree, or HFMA certification is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate financial assistance and payment plan requirements
Review potential uncollectible accounts receivable
Maintain accurate patient demographics and insurance information
Develop oncology financial counseling policies and procedures
Provide resources for varied telephone inquiries
Requirements:
Two years of relevant registration, scheduling, or collections experience
Expert-level online benefit verification knowledge
Basic medical terminology and health insurance expertise
Advanced Microsoft Office user experience
Cerner Millennium or HFMA experience preferred
