Customs Rater Import Documentation

Verify import documentation and enter accurate records as a Customs Rater supporting Delmar’s brokerage operations. Apply customs regulations and tariff classification knowledge daily.
Reporting to the Brokerage Manager, the Customs Rater handles documents from importers, freight forwarders, airlines, and transports. You will update existing files or create new ones within the Delmar system. The work also involves requesting missing documents and coordinating with customs and freight departments to provide outstanding client service.
Key Responsibilities:
Verify documentation received from importers and transportation partners
Enter documentation accurately into the Delmar system
Update previously opened files as needed
Create new files when required
Request documents and coordinate outstanding information
Requirements:
One to two years’ customs and transportation experience
Knowledge of brokerage procedures and customs regulations
Working knowledge of freight forwarding and related processes
Knowledge of H.S. tariff classification
Flexibility for varied work schedules
Bring organized problem solving, customs knowledge, and documentation accuracy to Delmar’s Customs Rater team.
