Waste Sorter Vancouver Solid Waste

Waste sorting and data recording define this temporary Vancouver position with Tetra Tech’s Solid Waste Management team. Work outdoors across the Lower Mainland.
As a Waste Sorter, you will characterize household and commercial garbage by collecting samples and separating materials into identified categories. The work includes weighing categories, entering data, recording observations, and taking photographs. Tetra Tech provides orientation and health and safety training before scheduled sorting dates.
Key Responsibilities:
Collect selected waste samples from household and commercial sources
Sort samples into several identified individual categories
Weigh categories and complete accurate data entry
Record observations and take photographs during sampling
Report health and safety incidents and concerns
Requirements:
Provide transportation to Vancouver, BC work sites
Perform lifting up to 20 kilograms safely
Stand, bend, twist, and work outdoors for long periods
Own or acquire CSA Green Triangle steel-toed boots
Start early at 8:00 am and work independently
Bring accuracy, safe work methods, and physical readiness to Tetra Tech’s Vancouver waste characterization and sorting activities.
